Signs of Fall

My husband and I visited in Pacific Grove, CA this weekend. The natives said the monarchs had arrived. We visited their habit, a wonderful group of large Eucalytus trees about four blocks from the sea. Hundreds of monarchs clung to the leaves about 2/3's up in the canopy of leaves. Very few were moving as it was early about (8:00a.m.) and rather damp because it had rained yesterday. We observed them for about 30 minutes. Monarchs on the east side of the groves began to move as the sun warmed them. The whole town seemed to have a lot of flowers for the monarchs to feed on. What an awesome sight!
