I just wanted to share the sighting of a extremely large[fat]banded hummingbird. It was late in the season and all my regular hummingbirds were gone and my feeder had been put up for the winter. When in the middle of October I saw the largest hummingbird I had ever seen hovering over my cardinal vine[she really liked it]she was at least 3 times as fat as the usual Ruby throat hummers that we get in the summer. She was so fat I don't know how she flew!On closer inspection I noticed a tiny silver band on her leg.She stayed 2 days enjoying the cardinal vine!
