My first grade class and I planted 30 Red Emperor tulip bulbs out in front of our school today. It was drizzling, but at 60 degrees, relatively warm for this time of the year. We all had great fun in the mud!!! We dug a hole in the middle of the lawn and discovered that we needed to fill it in with more soil after removing the sod, so we marched to the far corner of the school grounds with our ice cream buckets and helped ourselves to some dirt from near the lawn clipping mulch pile. What a sight we must have been! Needless to say, we'll have a difficult time waiting for spring to arrive this year.
