Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 11/05/1998

Number: 1

Nov 5, 98: We still have a few monarchs migrating thru the coastal plains of Texas. A 5th grader recovered a tagged monarch last Friday (Oct 30th) in our butterfly garden at school that may seems to have come from Columbus, Ohio. We still have larvae that we are raising in the classroom from "our" backyard eggs. All should have eclosed by the end of next week and sent south.
Now we watch to see if any monarchs will over-winter along the coast of Texas. However, it may not be as mild a winter as the past two! Harlen
