Third graders at Hansen Elementary School planted 100 tulips on October 23, 1998. It was 46 degrees on a sunny, clear day. Two of our mothers helped and we planted them on our west campus around a small ash tree while the rest of us made observations of our class tree. We added bone meal to the soil and wood chips on top. We look forward to them coming up in the spring and many springs after that, just like the others that third grade classes have planted in falls before.
