This morning I sighted four whooping cranes flying over my house on the north east end of lake bemidji near the city of the same name. The longitude and latitude were unavivailable because the site is down. I am a fishing guide and an outdoor writer and i heard the distinctive call and clearly saw the large white birds as they flew over. I know what a sand hill crane looks and sounds like and these were definitly whooping cranes.
