Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/23/1998

Number: 1

On Friday, October 23, our two
classes of kindergartners dug holes in a garden plot just west of our school.
The children dug the holes, measured them, and planted the bulbs. Mrs.
Rienstra's class thought they found a dinosaur egg - only to discover it was a
potato left from last summer's garden. Mrs. Graves' class thought the tulip
bulbs looked like huge chocolate chips. Both classes found earthworms in
their digging. They're looking forward to experimenting with tulip bulbs and
amarylis bulbs in their classrooms this fall.
