Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 12/19/1998

Number: 1

We watched a female Monarch depositing eggs on the A. curassavica
in our backyard at 12:30. At 12 noon we had run a check and there were 16 new Monarch eggs since Thursday. There were 20 1st , 2nd, and 3rd instar Monarch larvae. The Christmas Monarchs along the Texas middle coast continue. We have over 180 4th and 5th instars and chrysalides. The chrysalides started emerging on Thursday and we should have Monarchs until we get a significant freeze. Harlen E. and Altus Aschen http://www.homestead.com/vcs
