We continue to raise, tag, measure, and release Monarchs along the mid-coast of Texas. Since Dec 15, we have brought in 40 larvae in all instars and have released over 60 Monarch butterflies. The students in Victoria took 180 larvae home for the holidays to care for and raise ... most will emerge between Dec 25 and Jan 5. We have "portable" A.c. milkweed that we can take in when there is a chance of a freeze ... like last night. Female Monarchs were stilly laying eggs att 5 pm Monday Dec 21st.
