Tulips PLANTED

Date: 01/06/1999

Number: 1

The 5th Grade classes have planted the tulip garden for St. Francis Episcopal School. The 5th Graders planned, organized and supervised the planting for the Lower School, which included Grades 1 through 4. A total of 500 bulbs were planted. Each student in grades one through five planted bulbs. The entire Lower School is now anxiously watching for signs of spring!

When we returned to school on January 4, the weather was very cold. We had temperatures at 22 degrees and below. It was our first freeze! On Wednesday, January 6, we planted our first bulbs. The day was beautiful with temperatures up to 65 and 70 degees. We will complete our planting on January 8, and the prediction is that we will have more very cold weather this weekend.
