We released 23 "homegrown" Monarch butterflies yesterday, Sun,
Jan 10. We are still having "wild" Monarchs visting the A.c. beds here and at school. We watched a female depositing eggs on new A.c. shoots about 6 inches off the ground yesterday. And we had a different female visit this afternoon as we were trimming back and making cuttings of the A. curassavica. The overwintering Gulf Coastal Monarchs have stayed active so far along the mid-coast of Texas even with two light freezes. We have raised over 100 larvae since December 1st.
