Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 01/11/1999

Number: 1

Yesterday my husband and I saw a lone Monarch in our yard in southwest Houston, Texas. I am the principal of The Monarch School. We hatched about 15 Monarch crysalises which we brought to the school from our yard as caterpillars. There's still one caterpillar not yet in the crysalis form, but most of the others have hatched. We've had several hard freezes in Houston in the past two weeks, but today the temperature is in the low 70's.
