Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 01/14/1999

Number: 1

I have never seen robins in the winter! Since the second week of January 99, flocks of robins have been seen in the northwest corner of Indiana (between Michigan City, and in New Buffalo, Mi) and in the southwest corner of Michigan (between New Buffalo, Mi and Bridgman, Mi). They seem to stay together as they sweep along these towns skirting Lake Michigan. The robins are eating their way across the land--have seen them in bittersweet and in burning bushes. Had a mild fall season. My question is: Is this normal for them to still be around this time of year? Will they be OK? Also: My mother has flocks right now (Jan 99) at her home near Clearwater, Fl. she says they never get robins.
