Mid-coast of Texas, 23 Jan 99: Monarchs continue to visit our A. curassavica in the backyard in small but steady numbers. Three Monarch larvae observed outside today. No new Monarch eggs this week. We released 7 Monarchs at school and 18 at home this week ... all from eggs that were deposited in late December in the backyard. A male and a female Monarch observed today nectaring on the A.c. and purple lantana. The "coastal over-wintering" Monarchs are continuing the pattern they set for us last winter.
