For the last two weeks or so, there's been one Robin at the top of the ski area (Alpine Meadows)just north of Lake Tahoe, in California. While Robins are common in winter a bit lower (say, around Reno, which is about 30 miles away), this bird at the top of a mountain with about 180 inches of snow on the ground was a strange sight to see. Elevation was above 8000 feet.
