All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 01/30/1999

1-30-99 This has been a fantastic "spring" week along the middle of the Texas coast -- for the end of January. Redbuds are blooming, some fruit trees are blooming, and then yesterday we found the highway shoulders covered with "Indian Blankets" ... a common wildflower in Texas in the "spring" ... between Victoria and Cuero on US87. We have Red-winged Blackbirds in the backyard and today we observed a Turkey Vulture along the bay front that had a yellow/black/white tag on the right shoulder(???).
