I've had the pleasure of watching robins since growing up in Denver years ago; they always nested in our ponderosa pines.
This winter, beginning around the 12 of January, I've seen large flocks of them hunting along the bayous and open school grounds in our community, which is in the sw Houston area. The birds bop about, all facing the same direction ( north!) looking for food in the grass. We have had an extremely mild winter and the food supply is good for them. I don't remember seeing them this early or this many.
It is wonderful to see them. I wish they would stay!
