Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 02/09/1999

Number: 1

Dear Journey North,
In Houston, Texas, we have seen monarchs all winter long. We have found
caterpillars eating milk weed and butterflies flying in our school's
butterfly garden (especially on warm afternoons). We have had two very
short freezes this winter, but the monarchs seem to hide during these
times. We cannot remember a February that has been this warm. For the
last few days, our highs have been in the 80's (27 & 28 degrees celsius).
