I saw and heard a beautiful single male chattering atop a large cottonwood tree this morning. He was in wonderful shape and his white eye ring sparkled in the sunlight of our almost 70 degree day. He appeared in that tree off and on all day and was there when my day-care children came home from school. We promptly got out the spotting scope and let them enjoy our northern traveller. We also saw our first red-winged blackbird in the yard today. Do you think spring is on its way? I do!
