Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/15/1999

Number: 1

We, West University Elementary Sch., continue to see monarch larva, pupa, and adults in our wildlife sanctuary that have apparently overwintered. Last week there was an adult that looking bright and fresh, in excellent condition; so we assume it was newly emerged. The 20 or so larva continue to strip the few remaining leaves from the milkweed. We may not have any leaves for the spring migration!
