It was 11:37am when I discovered a wave of robins settling in a farmer's pasture along the hedgerows. I could tell they were'nt our normal small "resident" flocks which are normally sitting about a sumac-berry grove, silently. These birds were very anxious and on the move. There was well over a hundred of them, all calling to one another, and yes, I did hear one of them break into song. It was a cloudy day with some drizzle, and approx. 37 degrees F., with a good portion of the snow melted off the fields. It was the first wave of spring robins I've ever seen, and it was refreshing!!
