I recently visited my research site and am happy to report the clusters are
still in the same general area. However, I did note that the butterflies were
farther back in the barranca than in previous years. It may have been due to
strong Santa Ana winds at that time...February 16, 1999. The numbers appear
normal and mating was witnessed as expected for this time of year.
