Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 03/08/1999

Number: 1

Our tulips came up very soon after planting. Within a week, we had 4 beautiful red tulips blooming in our experiment garden. We have watched our garden daily, but we have had no further blooms. Upon close inspection, we have found that each plant developed stamens but no petals. We found this very curious and asked our local nursery expert. He feels the underdeveloped tulips contracted a virus due to our unseasonably warm weather at the time of our planting in early January. We have been very disappointed with our experiment results but will participate again next year.
