All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 03/10/1999

Number: 1

A pair of broad-winged hawks mated on a branch in our yard this day (and seemingly helped themseves to a mourning dove on the way out!).

Also, red-wing blackbirds are now established on our property, as is a fox sparrow, all in accordance to what you said we ought to expect at the time of first frogs singing, which we are still waiting for inbetween March snowstorms.

A goldfinch is begiining to show some summer color as well under its bill.
