Carrie Cate and I saw our first yard Monarch today, March 16 (Donna, Texas). We saw one earlier in Mission (Hidalgo Co.) on March 8. Yesterday (3/15/99) we were 7 miles north of Rio Grande City (Starr Co.) visiting with Benito Trevino. He said that he had been seeing monarchs there for about 2 weeks. Last year, we saw our first in Roma (Hidalgo Co.) on March 15.
