Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/18/1999

Number: 1

A 7th grader found the first small monarch larvae on the A. curassavica plants in the "butterfly garden" about 1 pm. The "baby" was about 2 days old ... so that means there was a fertile female laying eggs about Saturday (Mar 13). We have not seen any monarch butterflies at school in Victoria and this female did not deposit enough eggs for us to find them. Harlen and Altus http://www.homestead.com/vcs
