First sighting this season of a woodchuck, here in Bethany. Also, a reliable report of one came to us from Portland, CT, which was seen nose-to-nose with a housecat, who backed down readily (the cat, that is!).
Also, After being silent all winter, the resident tufted titmice have just begun singing today, to join the other bird species who have all begun singing already: redwing blackbirds, chickadees, cardinals.
