We have a large butterfly garden at our school. It focuses mainly on Moanrch Butterflies, therefore we have 25 swampmilk weed plants and 20 butterfly weed plants. The results are not as good at schoolas they are at our teacher's home. He lives on a hill only three miles away. Our butterfly garden backs up to the school, it is the only way to keep the custodians from mowing it down. The garden still attracts many types of butterflies. We also have a variety of wild flowers, gardenia, parsely, burrefly bush, Joe Pye Weed, lantanna, etc. We have enjoyed raising and tagging Monarchs through Monarch Watch. The Monarch migrations and reporting through Journey North has been great.
