Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/16/1999

Number: 1

Since 3/10/99, still seeing one monarch per visit to the butterfly garden at Hans Suter Park, which is near but not at Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. Each has had bright colors and intact wing margins. No signs yet of caterpillars on the Aesclepias currasavica in the garden, but Patricia Suter reported finding
a very small hatchling on one of these plants at her home in Corpus Christi today. She wasn't able to identify it as monarch or queen, however.
