All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 03/22/1999

Number: 1

Temperatures are finally beginning to rise in Interior Alaska. We are at the very beginning of "breakup" with snow melting and some signs of "fuzz" on the willows. Warm winds from the south are blowing into the interior bringing the avg. temp. for the past 24 hours to 37.25 degrees F. We eagerly await the arrival of migratory birds as another sign that spring is underway.
