I have had monarchs over the winter especially since the middle of February. They are laying so many eggs the millkweeds can't
feed them all. I actually only see a couple of monarchs at a time in my butterfly garden and have not seen an actual migration of butters but I will say they have been busy
laying eggs. At first I would find 5 or 6 eggs on top of the
milkweed leaf and several underneath which is unusual. I believe the scarcity of the plants is the reason.
