First monarch egglating observed on Mexican milkweed @ Hans Suter Park on 3/16/99. First confirmed monarch caterpillars (not queens) observed there on 3/24/99. These were already as much as an inch long when found. By 3/29, all but one of these first caterpillars was gone, but a second wave of smaller ones had appeared. Have seen no chrysalids yet.
