The tulips broke ground just before our mid-winter break the week of
February 14-19. However, the students have stepped on the plants and broken
some of them. They are not doing very well as of March 30. We will see if
any reach the blooming stage. But, in my home Journey North garden, one of
last year's tulips is already blooming. The weather has been so cool the
tulips at home do not stay open very long in a day. The weather should be
around 50 D. and it is not getting that warm very often this year.
