I saw the first Monarch in my location just after 4:30 pm today. It flew hurriedly across the yard in an easterly direction about 5 feet above ground. It wings appeared to be intact but quite faded. Temperature was 80 degrees with west winds from 5 to 10 mph. Skies were mostly clear. A cool front moved thru last night and we expect another front late tomorrow. Milkweed in my garden is about 3" tall.
