Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/15/1999

Number: 1

I have been seeing monarchs since the middle of February. Not too many
though, just a few but enough to lay an abundance of eggs - so many there
wasn't enough plants to support them. The caterpillars have eaten most of the
milkweed. I released 6 last week and there are more on the plants. I
brought 3 in yesterday and have a few more to bring in so they won't eat
everything. My largest milkweed was eaten down to nothing and it is having a
hard time coming out. I've bought more plants for the little fellows. I
live in the city so I probably won't see the usual migration.
