Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/03/1999

Number: 1

On Saturday, April 3 and Sunday, April 4 we observed about 20 monarchs each day. The weather both days was cloudy and in the 70"s. Most that were flying were headed East or ENE. Several were observed feeding on crimson clover that is in bloom along many of the roadways in our area.

We also noticed that the milkweed in our outdoor classroom is beginning to emerge from the ground. Hopefully it will grow well and the monarchs will choose our garden as a place to lay their eggs.
