Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/06/1999

Number: 1

How exciting to see a beautiful monarch flying northward. We Noticed that monarch was not faded, but brightly colored. Today a tattered female monarch laid eggs on several milkweeds. She stayed for several hours and laid many eggs. This evening I found what appears to be the same butterfly dead. Do you believe she completed her mission from Mexico and left us with the next generation to Journey Northward? How lucky we are! We know they have arrived because of the vast numbers of eggs on our milkweed. We planted them and they are really coming!
