Our tulip garden is a little shady, so our tulips emerged after tulips emerged in some our our students' gardens at home. It does not seem like ALL of them emerged that we planted. What could happen to a tulip bulb over the winter so that it does not emerge in the spring? (Besides getting eaten because we put chicken wire on top of our bulbs so the squirrels wouldn't get them)
