Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 03/30/1999

Number: 1

Unfortunately my third graders and I were away on spring break when this lovely event occurre, but our science teacher, Mrs. Easterling, happened to go to school and saw them. It snowed the next day which was hard on the new blooms. We had a snow day on the day we were supposed to return after vacation--one week after the tulips bloomed, and it snowed all day at school on Thursday after that. So the tulips are rather battered. Friday was clear, however, and they still look glorious under our school sign. It has been a very cold spring in California.Betty Harralson
