Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/13/1999

Number: 1

So far, we have not seen as many Monarchs this spring as we did last spring. Last night the temperatures were in the mid-40s, as compared to the mid-60's for nighttime temperatures of the last few weeks. Maybe this is our last cold-snap, and we will begin to see more Monarachs.

Caitlyn saw a Monarch catepillar in her backyard over the weekend. Ryan saw one Monarch in his yard. Andrew spent spring break in the Bahamas and saw many Monarchs flying in groups there. Hope they are headed our way. Jordan in first grade said she saw one Monarch on the school playground last week. We have had many sightings of swallowtails - but not many Monarchs so far.
