Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 04/15/1999

Number: 1

Inspite of the continuing appearance of snow, spring has in fact come to Winnipeg. The crows returned some time in mid-March. Canada geese followed shortly after that, although it sounded as if they were questioning the flight leader's judgement when heavy snowfall carpeted the area April 3. Tulips and crocuses have emerged from their winter slumber and are 10-12 cm high. I, myself, have not seen my first robin, but many of my friends tell me that they have. I did see a rather battered-looking butterfly floating around the patio on Monday. So, all in all, I think that we are well and truly into spring on the prairies.
