Loon (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/14/1999

Number: 1

Sorry I didn't send this right away. Saw a male Common Loon feeding in West Humber Bay in Toronto, ON Wednesday morning at 11:30am. This is only the second Common Loon I've seen so it was quite nice to find it on my way in to work. Observed it for about 10 minutes as it dove around the bay. Humber Bay is along the lakeshore of Lake Ontario in the city of Toronto and is quite a good spot to see waterfowl in the winter. There weren't any other species swimming in the bay at the time other than two mallards and a couple of ring billed gulls.
