We spotted 3 loons today at Pablo Wildlife Refuge. We also spotted and heard 3 Trumpter Swans flying by, many Double Crested Cormorants and lots of Coots. We went to Pablo Wildlife Refuge for an after school field trip. We saw lots of duck and many other birds. Some of the ducks we saw were the Common Mergansers, the Bufflehead, the Eared Grebe, the Northern Pintail, the Lesser Scaup, the Redhead, Canadian Geese, two Great Blue Herons, Green-winged Teals, some Northern Shovelers, American Widgeons, Canvasbacks, and Mallard ducks. We also found a mink and a muskrat.We spotted a Red-tailed Hawk on her nest and two Northern Harriers. We also saw lots of Red-winged Blackbirds, Tree Swallows, Kildeer, Northern Flickers, Black-billed Magpies, Eurpoean Starlings, Western Meadowlarks, and a few House Sparrows.. We heard the Common Snipe, though we never found it. The very first bird we spotted was the Common Raven. We had a very interesting trip and found a lot of new birds.
