Our Red Emperor Tulips began blooming on Monday, April 12. We noticed a difference between the tulips on the south side of the sign and those on the north side. The south side's tulips were blooming while those on the north side were not. There was also a difference in the height of the tulips. On Monday, April 19, our third grade class found the average height by gathering data on each tulip and dividing by the number of tulips. The average height of the tulips on the south side was 13 in. (32 cm.). The average height on the north side was 6 in. (16 cm.). As of Friday, April 23, the tulips on the north side still have not bloomed. What a difference the sun makes!
