Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/30/1999

Number: 1

Contributed by Monarch Watch

I saw my first monarch on 4-30-99 at 15:38
Bremen, Illinois (Randolph county) resting in a wheat field.
A weathered (faded) female, with mostly intact wings.
Did have tattering to the entire wing edge, no more than one cell
deep, and no leading margin damage.
No milkweed seen in the area but my asclepias "Soulmate"
has begun to budout and I have seen A syracia in missouri leafing out on a
west facing slope.
