Over 100 monarch eggs were deposited last Thursday and Friday at school. The 7th graders brought in 50 more eggs this morning but said they had "left plenty" (there were as many as 5 eggs on one leaf!). Monarchs were visiting the backyard after school this afternoon two males (one very faded ... might have been "X" ... almost transparent) and a female (a very small female that we tagged and released on the 29th) that was depositing eggs. About 20 eggs from Friday hatched yesterday, another 20 during the day today, and we just found new "hatchlings" tonight. We videoed eggs, hatchings, and eggs "ready to hatch" today in class.
