Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/04/1999

Number: 1

Contributed by Monarch Watch

Today I found about a dozen monarch eggs on some A. tuberosa growing on the campus of Millersville University, Millersville, PA. I haven't seen a butterfly yet, but obviously at least one has arrived. The plants were about 4 inches tall, and contained several eggs per clump. A single A. syriaca plant was growing nearby, and had 2 eggs on it.
