My son, a naturalist, working at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport,CT
watched a pair of loons passing by. This park is on Long Island Sound. He
observed them with field glasses as they fed and moved out of sight after
about 15 minutes. We both were surprised to see them"in our backyard" as have
observed them only in Maine where we spend our summers! Ruthie Mohr Trumbull
