first monarch. I was driving on Hwy 18 / 52 southeast of Monona. The monarch was flying low ( I almost hit it with the car) and almost due north.

Weather: 70 F, ESE wind 10-20 mph with gusts, cloudy, 4:00PM, Fairly strong storm hit Monona about 20 minutes later with high winds, lightning and heavy rain.
