A strong, fresh Monarch was checking out the young milkweed plants at the NJ botanical gardens in Ringwood, NY, about 25 miles south of Washingtonville, NY in the afternoon. It flew from plant to plant, not staying long on any. The flowers were budded but not yet open. Still hoping to see a Monarch here in Washingtonville, but it hasn't happened yet.
